1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using the Side Doors Chrome Extension (”Extension”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provided by Mindspire LLC (”Company”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (”Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Extension.
2. Description of Service
Side Doors is a Chrome browser extension that helps users:
Track job postings on LinkedIn
Organize and manage job applications
Find referral opportunities through LinkedIn connections
Side Doors is a free service with no subscription required.
3. Eligibility and Account Requirements
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Extension. By using the Extension, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately, and we will delete that information.
3.2 Account Creation
You must create an account through our authentication service to use the Extension
Account creation requires authentication via LinkedIn OAuth
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
3.3 LinkedIn Account Requirement
The Extension requires an active LinkedIn account
You must comply with LinkedIn’s Terms of Service when using this Extension
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn
Any issues with your LinkedIn account are your responsibility
4. Information We Collect
4.1 Information You Provide
Account Information:
Name, email address, and profile picture (obtained through LinkedIn OAuth)
LinkedIn profile URL
Job search preferences (keywords, salary range, location filters, excluded companies)
Authentication Data:
LinkedIn OAuth tokens (stored securely on our servers)
JWT authentication tokens (stored locally in your browser)
4.2 Information Automatically Collected
From LinkedIn Pages You Visit:
Job postings: Job title, company name, and job URLs
Company pages: Employee names
This information is extracted only from LinkedIn pages you actively visit while the Extension is enabled
Technical Information:
Browser type and version
Extension version
Usage data (which features you use, how often you use the Extension)
4.3 Extension Permissions
The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions:
Storage: To securely store authentication tokens locally on your device
Tabs: To navigate to LinkedIn pages and manage browser tabs
Side Panel: To display the Extension interface
These permissions are required for the Extension to function and are used only for the stated purposes. We may request additional permissions in the future to add new features or improve the Extension. You will be notified of any new permission requests, and you can choose to accept or decline them.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

6. Data Storage and Processing
6.1 Local Storage
The Extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome’s storage API:
Authentication tokens (JWT) for API access
User ID for session management
Token expiration timestamps
This local data is:
Stored securely in Chrome’s protected storage
Not accessible to other extensions or websites
Automatically cleared if you uninstall the Extension (but server data remains)
6.2 Server Storage
The following data is stored on our servers:
User account information (name, email, profile picture from LinkedIn)
Job postings you save
Job search preferences
Referral information
Authentication tokens (LinkedIn OAuth tokens, stored securely)
Location: Our servers are located in the United States. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
6.3 Data Transmission
All data transmitted between the Extension and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
Authentication tokens are transmitted securely and stored using industry-standard practices
We do not transmit your LinkedIn password or access your LinkedIn account directly
6.4 Data Retention
We retain your information indefinitely unless you request deletion
There is currently no automatic data deletion or expiration
Uninstalling the Extension does not automatically delete your data on our servers
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 11)
We may retain certain information after account deletion as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
7.1 Service Providers
We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:
Cloud hosting providers (for data storage)
Analytics services (to understand how the Extension is used)
Customer support tools
These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
7.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to:
Valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders, etc.)
Government requests
Law enforcement requests
To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
7.3 Business Transfers

8. Third-Party Services
8.1 LinkedIn
The Extension integrates with LinkedIn through their public website
We use LinkedIn OAuth for authentication, which requires you to authorize our access to your LinkedIn profile information
We extract publicly available information from LinkedIn pages you visit
Your use of LinkedIn is subject to LinkedIn’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
We are not responsible for LinkedIn’s services, availability, or data practices
9. Data Security
9.1 Security Measures
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:
Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS for all data transmission)
Secure authentication token storage
Access controls and authentication requirements
Regular security assessments
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Extension at your own risk.
9.2 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide
10. Your Rights and Choices
10.1 Access and Correction
You have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Request a copy of your data

10.2 Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

Uninstalling the Extension does not automatically delete your server data
10.3 Opt-Out Options
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it
You may disable the Extension without uninstalling it through Chrome’s extension management
You may request to opt out of certain data collection (though this may limit Extension functionality)
10.4 California Privacy Rights (if applicable)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
Right to delete your personal information
Right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
11. Data Deletion and Account Termination
11.1 Your Right to Delete Data
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time
To request deletion, contact us using the information provided in Section 19
We will delete your data within 30 days of your request, subject to legal retention requirements
Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
Currently, there is no self-service account deletion feature; you must contact us to request deletion
11.2 Account Termination by You
You may stop using the Extension at any time
You may uninstall the Extension through Chrome’s extension management
Uninstalling the Extension does not automatically delete your account or data on our servers
Your data will remain on our servers unless you specifically request deletion
You must contact us to request account deletion if you want your server data removed
11.3 Account Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
You violate these Terms
You engage in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities
We discontinue the Service
For any other reason we deem necessary to protect our services or users
Upon termination:
Your access to the Extension will be revoked
We may delete your account and data
12. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
12.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Extension only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
Use the Extension to violate any applicable laws or regulations
Use the Extension to infringe on intellectual property rights
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension
Use automated tools or scripts to extract data beyond normal Extension usage
Interfere with or disrupt the Extension’s functionality or servers
Share your account credentials with others
Use the Extension to collect data about other users without their consent
Use the Extension in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services
12.2 Compliance with LinkedIn Terms
You must comply with LinkedIn’s Terms of Service and User Agreement
You must not use the Extension to violate LinkedIn’s terms or scrape data in violation of their policies
We are not responsible if your LinkedIn account is restricted or terminated due to your use of this Extension
12.3 Accuracy of Information
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
13. Intellectual Property Rights
13.1 Our Rights
The Extension, including its code, design, logos, and content, is owned by Mindspire LLC
All rights, title, and interest in the Extension remain with Mindspire LLC
The Extension is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws
13.2 Your Rights
You retain ownership of any data you create or upload through the Extension
You grant us a license to store, process, and display your data as necessary to provide the Service
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 11)
13.3 LinkedIn Content
LinkedIn content displayed through the Extension remains the property of LinkedIn or its licensors
We do not claim ownership of LinkedIn content
Your use of LinkedIn content is subject to LinkedIn’s terms
14. Service Availability and Modifications
14.1 Service Availability
We strive to maintain service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
The Extension may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues
We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service unavailability
14.2 Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension at any time
We may update the Extension to add features, fix bugs, or improve security
Updates may be automatic and may change functionality
We are not obligated to provide notice of all changes
14.3 Extension Updates
Chrome may automatically update the Extension
You may need to accept updated Terms to continue using the Extension after updates
Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of modified Terms
15. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
15.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
NON-INFRINGEMENT
ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF DATA
UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
15.2 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER)
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
LOSS OF DATA OR INFORMATION
LOSS OF PROFITS OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
DAMAGES RESULTING FROM USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE EXTENSION
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES (INCLUDING LINKEDIN)
UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT OR DATA
15.3 Job Search Results
We do not guarantee that you will find employment through use of the Extension
We are not responsible for job application outcomes
We do not verify the accuracy of job postings or company information
Job availability and requirements are determined by employers, not us
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mindspire LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from:
Your use of the Extension
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights (including LinkedIn’s terms)
Any data or content you submit through the Extension
17. Changes to Terms
17.1 Modification Rights
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will:
Update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms
Provide notice of material changes through the Extension or via email
Post updated Terms on our website
17.2 Acceptance of Changes
Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of modified Terms
If you do not agree to modified Terms, you must stop using the Extension
Material changes will be effective 30 days after notice (or immediately for security-related changes)
18. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
18.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
18.2 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Extension shall be resolved in the state and federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
18.3 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will attempt to resolve disputes in good faith within 60 days.

20. Chrome Web Store Compliance
20.1 Single Purpose Policy
This Extension serves a single purpose: helping users track and manage job opportunities on LinkedIn. All features and data collection are directly related to this purpose.
20.2 User Data Handling
We collect only data necessary to provide the Extension’s functionality
Data is stored securely and used only for the stated purpose
We do not sell user data to third parties
Users can request data deletion at any time
20.3 Permissions Justification
Storage: Required to store authentication tokens locally for secure API access
Tabs: Required to navigate to LinkedIn pages and manage the Extension interface
Side Panel: Required to display the Extension’s user interface
We may request additional permissions in the future to add new features. You will be notified of any new permission requests and can choose to accept or decline them.
20.4 Data Minimization
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the Extension’s functionality:
Job information is extracted only from pages you actively visit
Authentication data is stored only as long as necessary for session management
Preferences are stored only to provide personalized features
20.5 User Control
Users can uninstall the Extension at any time
Users can request deletion of their data
Users control which job postings they save or target
Users can modify or delete their preferences at any time
21. Additional Provisions
21.1 Cookies and Tracking
The Extension does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We use Chrome’s storage API for local data storage only. Chrome’s “Do Not Track” setting does not affect the Extension’s functionality, as we do not track users across websites.
21.2 Links to Other Sites
The Extension may contain links to external websites (such as LinkedIn). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
21.3 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
21.4 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
21.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet or telecommunications failures.
21.6 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
21.7 Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Mindspire LLC regarding the Extension and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
By installing and using the Side Doors Chrome Extension, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
